Littlebird vs Fathom: AI meeting notes, bot or bot-free

Littlebird vs Fathom: notes with a bot on the call, or with nobody added?

Littlebird and Fathom both summarize meetings and pull out action items. Fathom is a meeting tool with a generous free plan and CRM sync, and it uses a meeting bot by default. The alternative is bot-free and wider in scope: it pays attention to the active window you're working in as well as the call, so meetings become part of a running memory you can search and act on.

Common questions about Littlebird and Fathom

Does either tool use a meeting bot?

Fathom uses a meeting bot by default, so it shows up as an attendee on the call. The alternative transcribes by listening along on your computer, and nothing joins the meeting as a visible participant. For external or client calls, where adding a visible recorder changes the tone of the conversation, that difference is worth weighing carefully.

What does Littlebird capture during and around a meeting?

During the call, the audio, which it transcribes and summarizes without a bot on the attendee list. Around it, the active window you are working in, so the prep doc and the follow-up email join the same memory as the notes. It is not a screen recorder and keeps no video or screenshots. Password fields are ignored, password managers are auto-excluded, and you can pause or exclude any app or domain.

Do integrations have to be set up first?

No. Littlebird works from the screen in front of you, so it is useful before you connect anything. Add integrations when you want deeper reach: Google Calendar for scheduling help, Gmail for drafting replies in context, Notion and Todoist for docs and tasks. The notes themselves need nothing connected.

How much does Littlebird cost?

Basic is $0 with full context from day one and limits on daily chats, active routines, and meeting notes. Plus is $17 per month billed annually or $20 month to month, with a 14-day free trial and unlimited meeting notes. Power is $42 per month with an annual subscription or $50 billed monthly, and adds MCP access. Pro starts from $100 per month. Students with a .edu email pay $15 per month.

Is there a free version of Littlebird?

Yes. Basic is free and includes a limited number of meeting notes, so you can run bot-free notes on real calls before paying anything. Plus removes the limit and starts with a 14-day free trial. Enrolled students get two months free and then pay $15 per month.

Does Littlebird run on Windows and Mac?

Both. The desktop app is the core product on either platform, since the meeting audio and the active window are on the desktop. iOS and Android companion apps let you ask questions away from your desk using the context your computer has already collected; they do not capture the phone.

Where are my meeting transcripts and notes kept?

Transcripts and notes are encrypted and stored in the AWS cloud, US East; the app runs on your computer. Littlebird is SOC 2 certified, with GDPR-aligned and CCPA-aligned handling, AES-256 encryption at rest and in transit, and TLS 1.3 on every connection. Nothing is sold and nothing is used to train models, by Littlebird or its providers. Delete any of it whenever you like; Enterprise customers can self-host.
