Littlebird vs Granola: AI Meeting Notes With Memory

Littlebird vs Granola: which bot-free notetaker remembers your whole day?

Meeting notes are just the beginning

Littlebird and Granola both take meeting notes without sending a bot into your call, so the choice between them is not about bots. Granola is a focused notetaker for people who want clean, template-driven notes shaped by what they jot down. The wider difference is scope: one pays attention to the active window you're working in as well, so meetings land in a running memory you can search and act on.

Common questions about Littlebird and Granola

Does either tool use a meeting bot?

Neither one does. Both transcribe by listening along on your computer, so nothing joins the call as a visible participant and your meetings look the same to everyone else in the room. On this specific point the two behave identically, and it is one of the clearer reasons people shortlist them together rather than against a bot-based tool.

What does Littlebird see that Granola doesn't?

Granola works from the meeting itself. Littlebird also pays attention to the active window you are working in between calls, then transcribes and summarizes meetings on top of that. It is not a screen recorder: no video, no screenshots, no keystroke logging. Password fields are ignored by design, password managers such as 1Password are excluded automatically, and card numbers and API keys are redacted before storage.

Do I have to connect my apps first?

No. Because it reads the active window, Littlebird is useful the moment it is installed, with nothing to wire up. Integrations are optional and add deeper access when you want it: connect Google Calendar and it can help with scheduling, connect Gmail and it can draft replies in context. Granola and Littlebird both work without a setup project; the difference is how much of your day each one can draw on.

What does Littlebird cost?

Basic is $0 and gives you full context from day one, with limits on daily chats, active routines, and meeting notes. Plus is $17 per month billed annually or $20 month to month, and comes with a 14-day free trial. Power is $42 per month with an annual subscription ($510 up front) or $50 monthly, and adds MCP access. Pro starts from $100 per month. Students pay $15 per month with a .edu email.

Can I try Littlebird for free before paying?

Yes, two ways. The Basic plan costs nothing, so you can run it on real meetings and real work first. If you want the paid capabilities up front, Plus includes a 14-day free trial. Enrolled students get their first two months free and then pay $15 per month with a .edu email.

Which platforms does Littlebird support?

The desktop app runs on Mac and Windows, and that is where the work happens: the active window and your meetings live on the desktop. iOS and Android companion apps let you ask questions when you are away from your desk. They read the context already collected on your computer and do not capture anything from your phone screen.

Where does Littlebird keep my meeting data?

The app runs on your computer and the memory it builds is encrypted and stored in the AWS cloud, US East region. Encryption is AES-256 at rest and in transit, every connection uses TLS 1.3, and Littlebird is SOC 2 certified with GDPR-aligned and CCPA-aligned data handling. Neither Littlebird nor its model providers train on your data, and you can delete all of it at any time. Enterprise customers can choose a self-hosted deployment.
